Hosted by the Mayor and Council and the city’s Human Rights Commission, this event kicks off a week of service and celebration of King’s legacy and founding principles. The Salute to Nonprofits will offer an opportunity to sign up to participate in service projects and learn about organizations.

About the event
Join the City of Rockville for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. This free event kicks off a weekend of service and celebration of King’s legacy and founding principles.
The celebration features a screening of the award-winning documentary “Finding Fellowship” followed by a Q&A discussion with Rev. Gerard Green. The event will also offer showcase a panel discussion with city and county justice, equity, diversity and inclusion professionals, a drum performance by Soul in Motion, the opportunity to meet with and sign up for service projects through a variety of nonprofit organizations participating in the Salute to Nonprofits, and a kid-friendly activity and performance by Groovy Nate.
